2016 Cochrane Airways Impact Factor higher than the CDSR's!

For the first time the impact factor for the Airways Group (7.457) is higher than that for the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (6.246).  This means that a review published by Airways in 2014 or 2015 was cited, on average 7.457 times in 2016.  We think this maybe because we are now focussing on priority reviews which are more likely to have an impact for people making healthcare decisions.  Pulmonary rehabilitation for COPD and Self-management for patients with COPD appear in the top ten most highly cited reviews across the Cochrane Library.

Downloads and Almetrics are two other ways of measuring impact which are gaining importance.  Vitamin D for the management of asthma is currently the Airways review with the highest Almetric score, putting it in the top 5% of all research outputs scored by Almetric and is the 8th highest score for a Cochrane review.
